Humanity is synonymous to compassion sympathy and tolerance and has significant historical elements. To probe experience and understand this in the fields of learning like literature, philosophy, sociology, economics and history is the primary function of the humanities.

Mission
The departments in the stream of humanities are a mixture of young and experienced teachers committed to both academic and co-curricular activities. Student centric programmes are the focus of the faculty.

History
The Department of Political Science was established in the academic year 1976 at PES college of Science, Mandya with the intention of providing education to the rural background needy students who want to pursue their further education for M.A., B.Ed., programme or for any other related professional degrees.
